Frequently Asked Questions
Is Udyam Registration mandatory for all businesses?
Udyam Registration is not mandatory but highly recommended. It is required to avail government schemes, priority lending, and MSME-specific benefits. Without it, you cannot access CGTMSE loans, delayed payment protection, or tender preferences.
What is the difference between Udyog Aadhaar and Udyam Registration?
Udyog Aadhaar was the old MSME registration system. It was replaced by Udyam Registration in July 2020. Existing Udyog Aadhaar registrations had to be migrated to Udyam. If you have an old Udyog Aadhaar, we can help you migrate it.
How long does Udyam Registration take?
Udyam Registration is typically completed within 1–2 working days once all documents are in order. The certificate is issued immediately upon successful filing on the government portal.
Is there a fee for Udyam Registration?
The government does not charge any fee for Udyam Registration — it is completely free on the official portal. Our fee covers the professional service of preparing, verifying, and filing your application correctly.
Can a service business register as an MSME?
Yes. Both manufacturing and service businesses are eligible for Udyam Registration. The classification criteria (investment and turnover limits) apply equally to both sectors.
Does MSME registration need to be renewed?
Udyam Registration does not expire and does not require annual renewal. However, you must update your registration if your investment or turnover crosses the threshold for your current category.
